  • We paid a visit to the @keywestgarden to check out some beautiful Florida Keys flora and fauna. I will never get over how pretty it is here. It just makes me smile. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒต
-
-
Our tour came complete with a waterfall wall, colorful seed pods, neat old Cuban chugs and absolutely stunning Cuban palms. ๐Ÿ˜
-
-
A great way to spend a day if you're ever in Key West. ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  • My husband sure does make pretty food when he is inspired. ๐Ÿ˜
-
-
And it's hard not to be inspired when there is Florida Keys lobster all around. ๐Ÿฆ
-
-
Here we have homemade ceviche with lobster tail, avocado, tomato and mango. Uh, yum. ๐Ÿคค
  • We finally had time to check out the famed home of one of Key West's most celebrated inhabitants. The Ernest Hemingway House is everything you'd expect from the dashingly rugged writer. Not very glamorous or overly ornate - rather charming and very Key West. ๐Ÿซ
-
-
And of course, we mustn't forget the famous six-toed descendents of the original Hemingway cat. Proceeds from the price of admission goes toward the care of these kitties, as well as the upkeep of the house. ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’•
  • If you haven't noticed from some of our posts, we love seafood. Well - all food - but seafood holds a special place, as does the sea. ๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒŠ
-
-
In fact, the notion of living the sailboat life after this RV life is always sitting at the back of our minds - but that is for another time. โ›ต
-
-
For now, we just reap the benefits of having a generous neighbor in the Keys who is kind enough to share his bounty of stone crab claws. ๐Ÿฆ€
-
-
And we've discovered a new favorite condiment in this Floribbean Key Lime Mustard sauce - an absolute must when eating stone crab. Serious yum - lucky for us, they ship. ๐Ÿ˜‹
  • Saturday night surf 'n turf. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฅฉ

-
Good food. Good wine. Great people. ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ’–
-
-
Full bellies. Full hearts. Live music, to boot. ๐ŸŽถ
-
-
Pineapple banana papaya bundt cake a la Brian for the win. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿ™Œ
-

Off to bed. Sweet dreams. ๐Ÿ˜ด
  • Good morning, folks!
-
-
I sure will miss these Florida sunrises and sunsets. ๐ŸŒ… They steal your breath every time.
-
-
But the chance to see sunrises and sunsets from places all over the country makes my heart flutter just a little. ๐Ÿ’–

I hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday. I will be working, but that's okay - I enjoy my job. ๐Ÿค—

One of the benefits of living in Florida during the winter months – aside from 78 degree days in February – is the abundance of beautiful farmersโ€™ market offerings of fruits and vegetables that we wouldnโ€™t otherwise have access to if we were still in the Northeast. …

One of us (ahem, Brian) loves pineapple. Maybe loves it more than is healthy. But of all things to love too much, itโ€™s not a bad one. It is one of the tastiest and juiciest tropical fruits out there and I donโ€™t think weโ€™ve met anyone who …

There is something about baking bread in a wood-fired oven that just seems right. It could be the history of it all, the time and care that it takes to build and tend a fire all day, or perhaps itโ€™s just the delicious flavor of wood-fired loaves. …

If youโ€™re in the thick of an Indian Summer like us, you definitely need to know how to make tepache de pina, or pineapple tepache. Instead of lamenting the lingering heat, weโ€™re taking full advantage and making summery pickles and ferments using pineapples, like the Pineapple-Pickled Jicama …
